Sundragon Standard
The Sundragon Standard Edition delivers the unique, hard driving raucous tone Jimmy brought to the world on Led Zeppelin 1. It is built in New York the same way as the Limited Edition using hand wired terminal strips and carefully selected parts including transformers made by the manufacturer who made them for the original amp in 1959.
The originality of Jimmy Page's Supro Coronado was defined by its unique sonic characteristics, which emerged following modifications after the amp was damaged. These modifications included a change from two 10” speakers to a single Oxford 12” Alnico magnet speaker, reconed with a British style 8 ohm cone, a new baffle and grill cloth, and small yet significant circuit changes that notably altered the amp's feel. The Sundragon Limited meticulously replicates these unique features, incorporating NOS (New Old Stock) parts, transformers hand-wound by the original manufacturer, and NOS tubes from Mullard and GE to capture the essence of the original's sound. Although the original speaker manufacturer is no longer in business, a modern Jensen P12Q speaker with an Alnico magnet has been selected to embody the spirit of Jimmy’s iconic amp. The Sundragon Limited is a testament to the aggressive sonic quality and the dynamic interaction between guitar and amp that made Jimmy Page's original Supro a legend.
